I am a long time member of NAWE in many of its groupings of initials. Now retired but still living in Columbus for a short time. Moving to Michigan in a few months where I am building a year-round home. If anyone out there remembers me in my younger days, I'd love to hear from them.

I am a 44-year-old mother of three young children working on my Master's in Education. I'll be exploring what influences women to attend or return to college at a later age. I, too, "tripped" into this place... great to know. I am a female Ph.D. student working on my dissertation relating to profiling female trustees at private universities. Not easy to gather data on this! So, I keep searching to conceptualize the project. I am particularly interested in why certain women are asked to sit on the board and others not. My research area is the career advancement of women faculty in the non-traditional (for women) disciplines, such as the "hard" sciences and engineering. I studied the influence of academic discipline, mentoring, career commitment, and critical incidents on the career advancement of women faculty.
